About Dr. Kumar J. Patel

Dr. Patel is one of the few dentists in the state who is certified to offer IV sedation. Make your next dental appointment more relaxing and pain-free!

1. Education and Training

Dr. Patel earned his undergraduate degree from King’s College, London, and attended dental school at Nova Southeastern University in Florida. He has over 20 years of experience as a Prosthodontist.

2. Specialty Training and Expertise

He completed specialty training in prosthodontics at the University of Alabama, where he received a Master of Science degree. He also trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.

3.Comprehensive Prosthodontic Skills

During his training, Dr. Patel received extensive training in implant reconstruction, aesthetics/cosmetics, crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, complete and removable partial dentures, TMD jaw joint problems, traumatic injuries to teeth and supporting structures, snoring and sleep disorders, post-cancer reconstruction, and continuing care. Prosthodontists are masters of reconstruction.

4.Volunteer Work and Teaching

He is a volunteer dentist at The Ben Massell Clinic in Atlanta, which serves nearly 6,000 patients annually by providing them with vital oral health care. He also teaches dental students on rotation from Medical College of Georgia and is actively involved in teaching and research and receives referrals from practicing dentists across the state.

5.Professional Affiliations and Honors

Dr. Patel serves as editor for the Georgia Dental Association. He’s involved with the Fellowship of American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists — an honor reserved for the top 1% of dentists for their service to the dental profession and their community.

6.Editorial and Research Contributions

Dr. Patel also serves as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Prosthodontics, a premier professional, peer-reviewed journal published by the American College of Prosthodontics. He resides in Marietta with his wife and two daughters.
